Commercial Activity

Gibraltar's digital-asset market infrastructure advanced materially in 2026 through two enacted statutory milestones: (1) the Property (Digital Assets etc) Act 2026 (Act 2026-09, assent and commencement 23 March 2026), confirming statutory personal-property status for digital and electronic assets (ss.2–3), and (2) the Protected Cell Companies (Amendment) Act 2026 (Act 2026-20, published 9 July 2026 and commenced 30 July 2026 under LN 2026/294), enabling protected cell companies operating as Experienced Investor Funds to issue tokenised cell shares and maintain DLT share registers with GFSC approval. Alongside these legislative developments, Bullish Group received GFSC approval under the DLT framework to offer trading in tokenised securities.
